There is something about that movie that just resonates with me. Part of it might be the fact that I have been in 14 weddings. And the other part of it is that I have been able to stand next to 14 brides and watch them experience one of the most defining moments of their life. People always ask me why it matters. "What does it matter if they have a cake cutter, Bianca?" or "Just tell them you didn't have time to make ____ for them, they'll understand." But for some reason, even the seemingly silly details have mattered to me. I guess my thought process has been based on the idea that if I can alleviate some of the stress that goes into planning the "event" and keep the couple focused on the relationships, then I will be helping them remember what truly matters years from now rather than being caught up in the trivial details.
